This is part 7 of our summer PRINCIPLES series. It can be listened to by itself, but for greater context refer back to the intro Episode #32.
Principle #7 - Own your words and actions
Note that the principles in this series are what work for me. They allow me to thrive and live my values as best as I can. I’m not advocating the adoption of my specific set of principles. Rather I’m attempting to showcase the power of principles by providing more context on how they can be defined, codified, and embedded into the thoughts & actions of our lives.

6 tips for asking for help:
Be clear on what you need help with
Review all your options: Which will be the most useful? Which are the most realistic?
Respect the probability you’ll succeed with the option(s) chosen
Tailor the request to whom you’re asking: Ensure you understand the commitment you’re asking them to bear and any compensation required.
Set realistic expectations for what being successfully helped looks & feels like
Recognize that the help delivered is unlikely to fully reach your expectations or vision. It may look drastically different than expected, for better or worse.

EP 32 - On Principles
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
This episode kicks off our summer PRINCIPLES series.
Clearly defining your principles is a crucial element to living a life aligned with them. By more firmly defining these guideposts, we provide ourselves a stronger foundation to face opportunities & challenges of our lives. Most of us live our lives with principles, even if we’ve never codified them.

EP 31 - Writing To Heal Workshop with Eric Kreuter Ph.D.
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
Sunday Jun 04, 2023
The Writing To Heal workshop is a deep dive into the powerful effects of writing as a therapeutic tool in addiction counseling. My interview with Eric A. Kreuter (PhD, CPA, CGMA, CFE, CASAC-T) provides insight into the power of pouring out thoughts and emotions onto the page.
We cover the training, frameworks, and support structures that provide successful recovery and personal growth. There are plenty of powerful takeaways for anyone interested in the written word as a tool for positive change.
I recommend downloading the free PDF of the today’s show notes: In addition to a summary of our conversation, there are links to additional resources and details on how you can help contribute to the mission of St. Christopher’s Inn. You can find the PDF at chriskreuter.com/wth

EP 30 - Water You Going To Do Now?
Monday May 22, 2023
Monday May 22, 2023
Today's question:
I just had my first annual review. My boss was critical of pretty much everything: My work, my attitude, and my future with the company. I like my job and would like to keep it, but I don’t think there’s anything I can do to change my bosses’ mind. What should I do now?
The 6 Metaphors:
Water always finds its level
It’s water under the bridge
The Parable of the Depths
Mit allen Wassern gewaschen (Washed with all the waters)
“Be Like Water”
You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink
Episode Quote: David Foster Wallace's This Is Water
